Animate a story, essay, poem or letter.
I will provide you with possible themes.
POSSIBLE FORMS:
Adaptation of a poem.
Adaptation of a short story.
Book synopsis or preview.
Movie preview.
A letter to someone.
An essay on "being in two places"
Animate a song
MATERIALS:
You will use a series of images created in Photoshop and or Illustrator.
You can shoot the images yourself-- with a camera, ipad or cell phone.
Think about the interactive meaning between text and image.
Required: USE TEXT AND IMAGE
At least 2 examples/instances of masking
Use a scanned texture
use of transparency in Photoshop to create at least one part of one image.
use of layer effects
Use of blend modes
Use of layer or other kinds of masks- please try to use a mask somewhere in your piece
minimum duration 90 seconds
USE photoshop or Illustrator along with Final Cut pro.
Please use photoshop to prepare images- at least one created by layering and flattening.
You can make drawings and scan them.
Use sound- effects and musical accents
Demonstrate control and understanding of Pixel resolution in final cut pro
Demonstrate aesthetic development in your compositional decisions:
where do you place text?
how do you compose your images?
how do you use movement?
FINAL cut pro:
demonstrate use of animation (motion functions)
text function
opacity, cropping, feathering, shadows, scaling and more
You may use music. Warning though that there are limits to what can be posted on Youtube if you use copyrighted popular music.
