
These exercises rely on the use of the fundamental shapes available in the toolbox. Next week we will modify shapes in Illustrator in more precise ways that you are able to manage with basic shapes alone.
Class exercise: Abstracted Image: At right is the images started in class using a painting from Egon Schiele. The exercise is linked HERE: scroll down to exercise 3. If you complete this exercise you can get credit for it. "Complete" means, all the compositional spaces from the original are adapted into your own Illustrator composition. You are not leaving any spaces undone.
ALTERNATE EXERCISE: Select a different painting or photograph as a base.
